LLANGEFNI 21 DINBYCH 3
The final scoreline failed to reflect the tremendous defensive display which characterised a terrific rearguard action by Dinbych .
This prevented Llangefni from capitalising on their superior possession and territorial advantage until late in the game by which time the tackling exertion took its toll.
Cefni only led 6-3 at half time courtesy of two Arwel Roberts penalty, Jamie Winning replying with a three-pointer for the visitors.
Dinbych also went close to a try when hard-working lock David Haydock was held up over the Llangefni line after driving over from a short range lineout.
More excellent visiting defence restricted Cefni to just another Roberts penalty up to the hour mark.
It was not until the 60th minute that Llangefni managed to score a touchdown and even then they did not cross the line as they were awarded a penalty try for a scrimmaging offence by Dinbych’s pack.
Roberts converted and also added another conversion to the two late tries scored by wings Wil Owen and Rhodri Gray who finished off combined attacks which eventually overcame an understandably tired defence.
