Football: Bala Town FC lose leadership after draw at Denbigh

CYMRU ALLIANCE LEAGUE

HONOURS ended even at Central Park on Saturday with Bala’s failure to win costing them top spot in the Cymru Alliance.

In a pretty even first half the home side took the lead with a Chris Williams header on 38 minutes. The Lakesiders looked rusty not having played for a month.

However, after the break Colin Caton’s side controlled the possession and equalised after 55 minutes with a fierce drive by Owain Roberts.

The visitors could then have easily taken the lead from numerous chances created, the last of which was a shot by Osian Roberts on 85 minutes which clipped the bar.

The teams are due to meet again at Central Park in the League Cup quarter-finals in the new year.
