PRESTATYN Town Reserves stretched their advantage at the Mackenzie Jones Clwyd League Premier Division summit to six points after Darren Hughes’ 68th minute strike sealed a 1-0 verdict at Llandyrnog United Reserves.
Four goals from hotshot Martin King helped Rhuddlan Town to a remarkable 6-2 win at Abergele Rovers.
King scored on five, 23, 44 and 80 minutes as Rhuddlan wrapped up a first victory of the campaign.
Dave Winters added another pair for Town on 32 and 78, while a Danny Campbell double after 55 and 70 was all devastated Gele had to show for their efforts.
Llansannan’s improved form continued with a 2-0 success at Aston Park Rangers while Matthew Toole’s netfinder earned Denbigh Town Reserves a 1-1 draw with Penmaenmawr Phoenix.
In the REM Jones Cup first round, Rhuddlan Town Reserves were hammered 10-1 at home by Glan Conwy Reserves, Kyle Parry hitting their consolation.
Division One action saw Lee Jones net once and David Collins twice as Abergele Rovers Reserves earned a 3-0 triumph at Caerwys.
Andy Hill, John Terry and Graham Williams all netted for Point of Ayr at leaders Llandudno Reserves but still the Colliers were unable to prevent a 4-3 defeat, while Prestatyn 3rds surprisingly lost 2-1 at home to Cerrigydrudion despite a Jordan Miller goal.
Y Glannau edged past Aston Park Rangers Reserves 4-3 thanks to Medwyn Lewis, Alun Jones and Dafydd Bailey (two).
In round one of the Halkyn Cup, Sam Benbow and Adam Cassidy plundered the goals which sealed St Asaph a 2-0 result at Llannefydd and in Division Two, Meliden overcame Rhos United 4-2, Peter Evans, Andy Jones, Lee Johnson and Chris Owen on the mark, while Bro Cernyw went down 3-0 at home to Wepre Rangers.
Nicky Voyle bagged four as Caerwys Reserves coasted to a 5-1 cakewalk at Llanrwst Reserves, Richard Hughes adding a single.
