RUTHIN remain in mid-table in the Cymru Alliance after crashing to a 3-0 defeat at home against high fliers Flint Town United.
The win for the visitors moves them back level at the top of the table with Llangefni Town, who could only manage a 1-1 draw at home with thrid placed Llandudno.
However, Ruthin saw the gap between themselves and ninth placed Bethesda Athletic cut to just two-points as Chris O’Neal’s men claimed a narrow 4-3 victory at Llangollen, while they lost ground on Mold Alex – one place higher in the standings – who earned a 4-3 win at Berriew.
Ruthin, who have picked up just five points from a possible 18 in their last six games, went down to three second half goals from Paul Williams, a penalty from Jon Kennedy and Alan Dawson.
Ruthin are back in action on Saturday when they travel to take on Berriew who sit in 14th place in the table, but before their loss at home to Mold had won their previous two outings.
