Football: Hitman Bowes is back on the trail for Prestatyn Town FC reserves

STEVE Bowes was a hat-trick hero as champions Prestatyn Town Reserves hit Sychdyn for six in the Mackenzie Jones Clwyd League Premier Division.

First team squad member Bowes did the reserves a big favour with his triple strike at Bastion Road, Ashley Bamber (2) and Karl Murray also on target for the Seasiders in a 6-0 romp.

Abergele Rovers remain leaders on goal difference after a 9-0 cakewalk at Brynford United, while second-placed Greenfield were grateful to Lee Taylor for a 90th minute decider in a 3-2 verdict at Llansannan.

Hosts Sannan had led twice through Keiron Brownhill and an own goal in a first half which ended 2-2, but the villagers were left heartbroken by that last gasp Taylor netfinder.

Rhuddlan Town jumped out of the bottom two after an excellent 2-1 victory over Flint Town Reserves.

Martin Jones and Steve Moore got the goals that mattered for the home side, the latter plundering an 87th minute winner, Jack Ashbrook replying for the Silkmen.

In division one, Y Glannau went down 4-2 at Cerrigydrudion despite a double from Meirion Edwards on 28 and 60 minutes, the second goal coming from the penalty spot. Cerrig sealed it with two goals in the final 10 minutes, Endaf Jones, Richard Lloyd, Jason Jones and Sion Roberts their targetmen.

Chris Owen notched a hat-trick as Meliden ran out 6-2 victors at Bro Cernyw in division two. Owen found the target after 10 (pen), 61 and 70 minutes, Andy Jones, John Atherton and a Sion Jones own goal making up their tally. Tristan Williams had handed Cernyw a fifth minute lead from the penalty spot and Jacob Walker brought them level at 2-2 at one stage in the first half.

St Asaph raced into a 3-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes against Rhos United, but had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Adam Cassidy broke the deadlock in the opening minute and then two quick strikes by Duncan Midgley put the Saints in seeming control, but Edward Haley (2) and Ben Wheeler ensured it ended level.
