AFTER a promising start to the campaign Llandyrnog United Reserves came down to earth with a bang in the Mackenzie Jones Clwyd League Premier Division when they were whipped 4-0 at new boys Sychdyn.
Denbigh Town Reserves took a seventh minute lead at home to Abergele Rovers when Owen Davies found the net, but Gele hit back to claim a resounding 5-1 victory.
Cerrigydrudion perked up in division one, seeing off Rhuddlan Town Reserves 3-1 with goals by Jason Jones, Endaf Jones and Owain Roberts.
Caerwys trailed 4-0 at home to Llandudno Junction Reserves before Steven Hughes bagged a 70th minute consolation.
A Dewi Jones hat-trick, which included a penalty, sealed Llannefydd a 4-1 success at home to Bro Cernyw in division two. Aled Jones also netted for Llan, Tristan Williams replying.
Caerwys Reserves went down 6-4 at Penrhyn United despite an Andrew Swan hat-trick and Richard Hughes single.
