ALAN OVERSON of VC Melyd is having one of his best ever seasons on the bike, but he didn’t get it all his own way in the latest two local time trials.
He was one of four riders to go under 23 minutes for 10 miles in the St Asaph time trial, winning in a time of 22mins 22secs, just two seconds ahead of Rhos-On Sea CC flyer Justin McIlveen, with Mike Cummins (VC Melyd) a further seven seconds back in third.
In the Rhuallt Hill Climb the Prestatyn man was unlucky to get a poor start to finish in 6.40 for third place behind his clubmates Dave Watt and winner Mike Cummins.
Conan Mayman (Rhyl CC) continues to place well in North West road races, taking ninth and 13th place in two events last week at Preston and Litherland.
