DENBIGH GC: Winter League week 11 ( Jan 10): Stableford: 1 Arfon Roberts 41 pts – 10 pts (h/c reduced from 23 to 20). Gold Division: 1 Gary Thomas (vice-captain) 40 – 7, 2 Andy McColl 38 – 6, 3 Tony Davies (captain) 37 – 5. Silver Division: 1 Peris Bowen 37 – 7, 2 Jason Owens 38 – 6, 3 Steve Callan 38 – 5.

Juniors Winter League week 10 (Jan 4): 18-hole Bogey: 1 Tom Brown 1 up, 2 Edward Roberts 1 down, 3 Reece Hughes (junior captain) 2 down. Individual Leaderboard – 18-hole comps: 1 Mark Matthews 77 pts, 2 Reece Hughes 77, 3 Liam Rowlands 54, 4 Tom Brown 54. Individual Leaderboard after week six – nine-hole comps: 1 Robbie Green 10 pts, 2 Tom Green 9, 3 Harry Brown 8.

Ladies nine-hole Winter League competition (Jan 4): 1 Tracey Ellis 20 pts (b6-17), 2 Alison Evans 20 (b6-15). Seniors Stableford (Jan 9): 1 Ed Smith 40 pts, 2 Arthur Ames 37, 3 Alan Brooke 30.

At the club’s AGM, members elected David Anthony Davies, known to everyone as Tony, as captain for 2008-2009 with Gary Thomas appointed vice-captain.

Mr Davies has been a member at Denbigh for 39 years and has a current handicap of 11, but has played off six.
