NORTHOP HALL 0 RHYL 3
NORTH WALES WOMEN’S HOCKEY LEAGUE
A FLYING start for Rhyl as they kicked off the new season with an emphatic win.
Amy Morris broke the deadlock when with the Northop keeper on the ground, and the defence covering the goal-line, she pulled the ball from under the netminder and flicked over the covering rearguard.
Sioned Roberts went close a couple of times before the break, but Rhyl doubled their lead in the second period when from a short corner Lucy Edwards injected out to Laura Houlston and she slipped the ball to player of the match Hannah Bateman who lifted into the left hand corner.
Rhyl clinched the points when from another short corner, Lucy Edwards found Houlston who this time set up Sophie Edwards to fire home.
