Rugby Union: Dinbych youngsters beat Pwllheli

DINBYCH YOUTH 15 PWLLHELI YOUTH 8

AFTER narrowly defeating Pwllheli by a single point earlier in the season, Dinbych enjoyed a more emphatic victory in the return.

Steffan Morris was involved twice in the move which brought him an early try, but stubborn Pwllheli dug in and reduced the arrears to 5-3 at the interval with a penalty.

After half time, substitute Huw Mars-Jones made a stunning jinking run upfield to cross the line but his touchdown was deemed by the referee to have been held up.

However, Pwllheli were forced into conceding a penalty from the resulting pressure and Morris slotted over.

Dinbych continued to attack and when awarded another penalty just yards from the line, Morris kicked it across field for Mars-Jones to collect on the wing and force his way over for the try which Morris converted to seal the match.

RHYL Under-14s were 19-7 winners at Birkenhead Park, MOM Lewis Pender scoring two tries and Darren Apollis one.

The team has gone from strength to strength since Karl Rowan took over as manager and Tim Davies as head coach.
