GOGLEDD Cymru and Llandovery are encouraging all rugby supporters to converge on Bala on Saturday in support of the Bryan Davies appeal.
Bryan is still in Southport hospital a year after the tragic rugby accident when playing for Bala which left him paraplegic. Rebuilding his life is a slow process and one for which he and his family need continued support.
It is a measure of the generosity of the Drovers’ Chairman, Handel Davies that he has brought Welsh Premiership rugby to North Wales for the second year running. It is a gesture that demands support.
"The aim is to have an afternoon of rugby," said appeal organiser Tony Parry. The match between Llandovery and Gogledd Cymru will be preceded by a youth team match and a mini-game at half time.
The organisers hope for a sunny day and party atmosphere for the whole family. The afternoon will kick off at about 2pm and will continue into the evening with a race night at Plas Coch.
New Llandovery and Welsh U20 coach Rob Appleyard has added new players and a fresh dimension to the side. Gogledd Cymru realise that they will have their work cut out. Four divisions separate the standard of club rugby in the region from the Premiership and Gogledd Cymru is aiming to close that gap in a sustainable manner.
Both teams intend to play exciting rugby but hope that the real winner on Saturday will be Bryan "Yogi" Davies.
