A RUTHIN hotel which dates back to the 1870s has relaunched its services this month under the new ownership of a national tourism tycoon.
The Woodlands Hotel, in Llanfwrog, hosted a Gourmet Evening last Saturday [May 31] to preview the hotel’s new range of menus, and is hoping Vale visitors will be keen to experience the location’s stunning scenery and local hospitality.
"We want it to be the place to be in the Ruthin area, and the best venue for special events, staying away and regular entertainment" said David Jones, Hotel Manager.
The hotel, situated on the Woodlands Hall site alongside the sister holiday lodge park, was recently bought out by the Haulfryn Group, based in Chester.
The new site now features three small restaurants, a conference room, and six newly refurbished letting rooms, features which David is hoping will appeal to tourists and locals alike.
"The long-term goal is to combine the holiday lodges and hotel as best we can and provide a high standards all round. We’ve invested a lot of money into the Woodlands and we’re hoping visitors won’t be disappointed" he said.
The Haulfryn Group, which now owns the hotel, is a family-owned firm which owns holiday properties across the UK. It also bought Snowdonia site Pen-y-garth, in Bala, as part of an expansion earlier this year into North Wales.
