YOUNGSTERS have been keeping an eye on the people of Prestatyn through the town’s CCTV system.
Eight teens from Prestatyn Youth Forum visited Denbighshire Council’s CCTV centre.
At an open session of the town council they told members they had no faith in the closed circuit system.
They were concerned cameras did not work and wondered what happened to the footage taken.
Cllr Sharon Frobisher, cabinet member for communities, said: “The eight who came along were very impressed with what they saw, the answers they got to their questions and they were amazed at how clear the pictures were.
“Denbighshire’s CCTV superintendent showed them some footage of an incident in Rhyl recently.
“The young people were reassured that it had taken less than two minutes for several police officers to arrive.”
They also learnt that the CCTV centre has regular radio contact with police and saw how effective these constant links are.
