MP urges residents to have their say on housing in Denbigh

VALE of Clwyd MP Chris Ruane is urging residents of Denbigh to have their say on a planning application for Llys Gwyn on Vale Street.

The application is for a change of use from bedsit accommodation unit to supported housing accommodation incorporating six units and staff quarters.

These proposals, which can be viewed at Caledfryn, have proved controversial with residents living in the Vale Street area and Mr Ruane is urging all those who have concerns to ensure they make these known.

“I circulated a letter in Denbigh regarding these proposals in September,” said Mr Ruane.

“And the response was overwhelming.

“Many people have huge concerns over the way consultation was carried out during the writing report into the scheme and this is now their opportunity to ensure their opinions are taken on board.

“However, as the consultation period does come within the Christmas holidays I will be asking Denbighshire County Council to extend the timescale for representations to be made.”

Anyone wishing to object to these proposals should write to Paul Mead, Acting Development Control Manager, Planning and Public Protection, Caledfryn, Smithfield Road, Denbigh, LL16 3RJ.
