Denbigh pupils return to school to find new playhouse

PROUD PUPILS at one Denbigh school were excited to return to work this week after a replacement for their ill-fated playhouse finally arrived.

Youngsters at Ysgol Gwaenynog had a replacement playhouse delivered on Monday [September 1] by Deeside-based firm Brothers Fencing to an audience of delighted teachers, parents and students.

The firm decided to donate the building after an appeal by pupil Luke Holloway-Holt following the theft of the school’s original playhouse in July this year.

"The opening went really well, although the first thing Luke did was get a mop and clean the playhouse because the men opening it had got the floor dirty!" said Emma Holt, Luke’s mother.

The school’s original playhouse had been stolen from the school, leading to parents and teachers appealing in Your Vale for its return. Police later found the playhouse hidden in a dingle just yards from the school, but it had been damaged beyond use.
