Deja-Vu on Denbigh's Lenton Pool yours for £485k

A DENBIGH nightclub owner is flogging his Lenten Pool premises for almost half-a-million pounds.

Deja-Vu is being advertised online by property agent Meridian Business Sales, who say they have received plenty of interest but no firm offers for the venue.

Club owner Stephen Wynne spoke to Your Vale this week about the deal.

"We’ve been approached by a third party who asked if we’d be interested in selling up. Traditionally we’ve always said no, but it’s very quiet at the moment and the offer was too good to refuse," he said.

"There has been lots of interest but no offer is serious until the money’s down on the table, so it’s not a done deal just yet. It’s a very quiet time of the year and there just aren’t enough people using the club. It’s a case of use it or lose it."

Mr Wynne adds that many young people are now heading to establishments outside of Denbigh on nights out, meaning Deja-Vu is competing against clubs elsewhere in North Wales. The nightspot, which is being advertised online for £485,000, is described by Meridian as a "superb modern sports bar and nightclub, which benefits from an excellent location in the town centre and superb potential for growth".

"Meridian Business Sales are delighted to bring to the market this highly regarded and hugely popular sports bar and nightclub, which enjoys a fantastic location being situated just off the bustling town centre of Denbigh in North Wales," said a spokesman for the company.

"Our clients have lived and worked in Denbigh for the last 30 years, they now wish to bring this fantastic opportunity to the market to enjoy a well-deserved retirement."

Deja-Vu was established two years ago after spending many years as a snooker club. The club enjoys a turnover of over £250,000, a figure which is set to rise further still, say Meridian.

Mr Wynne says that if the site is sold he would like to set up a bigger nightclub elsewhere using experience gained in running Deja-Vu, and leave the Denbigh property to new owners.
