A DECADES-OLD tradition returns to Denbigh this week as one of the Denbigh and Flint Show gets underway in the town centre on Thursday.
The event - the town’s 146th - promises an array of attractions when it opens on the town’s green from 8.30am, including a display of vintage cars and agricultural machinery, a grand parade of prize winners, and the return of the Chariots of Fire display team.
"It’s all set to go and everything’s ready, so we’ll have a fantastic time. Hopefully the weather will hold out for us," Philip Eaton-Jones, Show Director.
"We’ve had a very good response, especially after last year when Foot and Mouth almost threatened to stop things completely."
The event, not to be confused with the Denbigh Show which takes place in the town on Saturday (August 23), traditionally travelled to locations around the original counties of Denbighshire, Clwyd and Flintshire, before settling at its present site on Denbigh’s town green in 1990.
Exhibitors from around the region are expected to compete for over 150 prizes being offered by the show’s organisers, while businesses are also keen to display at the Denbigh location, including the Farmers Union of Wales, who will be hosting a political forum with the at the show.
The Denbigh and Flint Show starts at 8.30am tomorrow at The Green, Denbigh, with a shuttle bus service operating from the car park at Denbigh Gliding Club. For more information visit www.denbighandflintshow.com or telephone 01352 712131.
