Denbigh adventurers gain Duke of Edinburgh Awards

OVER a dozen Denbigh adventurers have walked, camped and canoed their way along one of Britain’s longest rivers to gain their latest awards.
Fifteen members from Denbigh Open Award Centre endured hail and severe storms as they trekked an 82 mile course along the River Wye as part of an expedition for the Gold Certificate of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The intrepid explorers, who are set to complete the award next year, will be presented with awards in London by either Prince William or Prince Philip.
