A DENBIGH music duo are reaching out to young rockers across the UK.
Stuart and Lowri Wynne, who run the Rock Project on Abrahams Lane, announced this week they are to open eight of their innovative schools across the UK, which cater for children between the ages of seven and 16, including one in Llangollen which will help extend the project's reach across south Denbighshire.
"The interest in the franchise has been overwhelming" said Manager Stuart Wynne.
"As well as the new schools that are soon to open we are also in discussions with interested parties in places as far as Peckham, Southampton, Ealing and Cardiff. We have a 5 year plan in which time we aim to open 50 schools across the country."
The Vale venture currently has four sites, based across Mold, Chester, and the original base in Denbigh town centre.
Other UK towns and cities signed up to the project include Carlisle and Whitehaven in Cumbria, St. Helens in Merseyside, Nantwich in Cheshire, Oswestry, and two sites in Wrexham.
Lowri Wynne, Project Manager, says their system of non-traditional methods can quickly develop young musical talent.
"We have had children come along who were really shy, but within 3 months are on stage playing their instrument in front of 300 people!"
