A BUDDING chef from Bala has cooked up cash for himself and his school after showing he knows his nosh by winning a competition this month.
Lewys Evans, a pupil at Ysgol Berywn, took top honours at the contest, which was held last month at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Penrhyn Bay.
Organisers were looking for future foods to serve at the summit of Mount Snowdon, in the new Hafod Eryri being opened later this summer.
Lewys impressed judges with his curry dish in the competition, held by Conwy Land Rover and the Farmers Union of Wales.
"Congratulations Lewys. We’ll have to climb Snowdon when Hafod Eryri opens to taste this delicious curry of his!" said teacher Rhian Puw.
