Farm land auction at Denbigh will still go ahead

AN auction of farm land on the outskirts of Denbigh will still go ahead despite a small section of the plot being withdrawn from sale.

Auctioneers Jones Peckover yesterday stressed 23.9 acres of land at Pen y Maes farm will be auctioned off on Monday.

It comes after Denbighshire council this week announced it would be retaining a small parcel of the farm land, which includes the former trackbed of the Denbigh to Ruthin railway line - as it may form part of an ambitious plan for a cycle track.

But the rest of the farm is still up for sale.

And whoever buys it will be granted agricultural right of way over part of the portion being retained by the council.

The original acreage of the plot, listed as Lot 6 in the auction was 29.65 acres.

The new acreage now amounts to 23.9.

The auction will be held on Monday July 25, at 6.30pm at the Brookhouse Mill, Ruthin Road, Denbigh. For more information phone the auctioneers Jones Peckover on 01745 812 127.
