RESIDENTS in St Asaph have a new beat officer patrolling their neighbourhood.
PC Jason Davies joins the North Denbighshire Neighbourhood Policing Team as the new Community Beat Manager for the St Asaph East and West wards, and he will be patrolling the area, listening to residents’ concerns and working with partners to tackle any issues they have.
PC Davies said: “I have been in post officially for three weeks, having taken over from my predecessor, PC Osian Davies. I am very keen to continue with his good work in the area, along with the other members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“One of my top priorities is to tackle a culture of anti-social behaviour that’s developed among certain groups in the area. Several arrests and other sanctions have already been made for a variety of offences and these have led to prosecutions at court as well as other formal action against those offenders.
“The small minority who are responsible should be aware that their offending behaviour must change as our commitment in tackling the issue will not.
“I hope to work with all members of the community to ensure that St Asaph remains a safe place to work, live and visit, and I look forward to getting to know the residents.”
PC Davies joined North Wales Police in 2007 and after finishing his training took up a post in Colwyn Bay. He has worked as a response officer in Colwyn Bay and Abergele before moving to the North Denbighshire district in 2008.
