THE weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of Rhyl High School pupils who celebrated some fantastic GCSE results last week.
The school celebrated an improvement from the previous year, with a high number of pupils scoring good grades.
“I’m delighted so many are pleased. There has been an improvement and I hope they stay on at sixth form. It’s great to see so many smiling faces,” said head of year, Mrs Fawcett
One of those smiling faces belonged to Sarah Jones, who achieved seven A*s, three As and a B in her results, and said: “I’m really pleased. I’m going now to do an International Baccalaureate at Llandrillo and hopefully then on to do law at university. I’d like to thank all the teachers for their help.”
Helen Thornton was another who achieved terrific results with two A*s and 11 As.
“I’m really happy, it’s more than I expected. I’m hoping to stay on sixth form then to study medicine and become a doctor.”
