Urban Fusion Dance Group in Rhyl charity performance

PEOPLE who love dance should not miss a unique event being held in Rhyl on Sunday.

Urban Fusion Dance Group will be putting on a performance at Rhyl town hall from 8pm with all money raised from the evening being donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The performance will include an array of dance styles, including street dancing, hip-hop and breakdancing.

"This is the first time we have actually done a show, we normally just take part in competitions," said choreographer of the group which is based in Shotton in Deeside, Richard Allen.

"We were approached by MacMillan who are keen to reach out to the youth and decided to take up the challenge.

"We are all really excited about the show and are confident it will be a hit. There will be about 80-90 people taking part. We are using music from the 70s, 80s and 90s and covering all varieties of dance, there is even a bit of ballet."

Richard added: "It has been a great opportunity for our dancers, a lot of whom are talented in a lot of other styles of dance other than street dancing.

"They have enjoyed doing it so much we may consider doing more shows in the future."

Urban Fusion Dance Group, who compete all over the UK, has classes at various locations throughout North Wales, including Ruthin. Members range from age five to adults.

Urban Fusion's performance will be 45 minutes long, followed by half an hour interval, and finishing with a further 45- minute performance.

Tickets cost £5.
