THE "Tribute to Steve Brake" Exhibition in Denbigh Library Gallery was launched recently with over 150 people present.
The exhibition contains work from a small selection of the many successful exhibitions and projects that have been organised over the last 28 years, within Clwyd County Council, and then Denbighshire County Council.
There are loans from the Clwyd Fine Arts Trust, a body Steve was involved in setting up and purchasing for, as well as loans from the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum, Birkenhead (John Piper), National Library of Wales (Richard Wilson), Oriel Ynys Môn (Kyffin Williams) and even a work depicting Marilyn Monroe on loan from Legoland, from the very successful exhibition, The Art Of Lego.
There is also a good selection of work by artists from Wales and further afield who still exhibit regularly with Denbighshire Arts Service. These include Keith Bowen, Alastair Crawford, Jean Powell, Luci Melegari, Terry Mart, Helen Lopez, Jan Gardner, Keith Andrew and Joy Jones.
Over 35 artists have written short tributes to Steve as well, all of which can be found in the gallery.
Much of the work on display is for sale and there is also a selection of jewellery and ceramics which can be bought as affordable Christmas presents.
The exhibition continues to January 10, 2009.
