Denbigh will rock as the Big Big Gig hits the town hall

THE cream of Clwyd’s musicians are hoping to rock Denbigh later this week when they play a special gig at the town’s hall.

The Big Big Gig - which follows on from the youth-orientated Big Gigs earlier this year - will see bands and artists from the Vale take to the stage at Denbigh Town Hall this Saturday [August 23] for a night of music aimed at older music fans.

"It’s a show case of local talent and had an amazing line up. The evening promises to be a fantastic night of local entertainment" said Sue Muse, one of the show’s organisers.

Youthful favourites The Comics, already well-known for their performances at the earlier Big Gig shows, are set for the stage as opening act, but the rest of the line-up will be older bands and artists aimed at entertaining the town’s adult fans.

Among the highlights promised for the performance is solo singer Sara Davies, who is being dubbed as Denbigh’s answer to KT Tunstall by the show’s organisers.

"Sarah has a real star quality with a powerful voice which just gets better and better, and she also writes her own material" added Sue.

Other acts promised for the night include comedian and musician John Sellers, Luke Oldale, The Martyn Peters Experience, and headlining-act The Duffs, who specialise in cover versions with an amusing twist.

The Big Big Gig kicks off in Denbigh Town Hall from 7.30pm this Saturday. To find out more about the gig, which is strictly for over-18s only, call 01745 816887.
